Invisalign Teen

What Is Invisalign Teen?

Invisalign Teen is a less invasive way to correct orthodontic problems in teenagers without subjecting them to wearing unattractive metal braces throughout the tough transition from teenager to young adult. Instead of the traditional metal brackets and wires which can look unattractive in the short term, the Invisalign teen programme comprises a set of transparent aligners which gradually straighten the teenager’s teeth over time.

The aligners are almost invisible as they are completely clear, and offer a much more discrete orthodontic treatment.

Why should I get Invisalign Teen?

Being a teenager is not always easy, and it is the time in your life when your appearance probably means the most. Low self-esteem and self-confidence are not helped by crooked teeth, but they are also not helped by traditional visible metal braces either. Invisalign teen allows teenagers to retain their levels of confidence throughout the treatment and ultimately increases their self esteem at the end of their successful treatment.

Whether you are teenager yourself, or if you are the parent of the teenager, we can offer you advice about the programme and its benefits to you or your child.

For How Long Will I Have To Wear The Invisalign Teen Aligners?

Generally the time it takes for a teenager to see great results on the Invisalign programmes will be anything from 6-14 Months depending on how severe the patient’s needs are. The exact timings of the treatment will differ depending on the exact requirements of the patient and the current state of their teeth.

If you come along to one of our free consultations, our dentists will be able to assess your situation individually and will be able to offer a more accurate completion time. Invisalign Lite may be used as a faster option but it is only suitable in a few cases.

What is the Invisalign Teen treatment plan?

  • Firstly, the dentist will take digital images and impressions of the patient’s teeth
  • Aligners are designed to fit the individual’s teeth perfectly
  • A set of different aligners will have to be worn during the programme
  • Each aligner will be worn for a few weeks at a time
  • Aligners should not be taken out for more than 2 hours a day to provide the best results
  • The patient will have to attend regular check-ups to monitor the process carefully
