Damon braces

What are damon braces?

Damon braces are an advanced system that straightens teeth in a way that is faster and more comfortable than standard braces. They are a suitable treatment for both adult and child patients, that drastically improve your smile; and in most cases, without having to remove any teeth.

The key thing about the Damon System is not just the revolutionary braces and wires, it is a whole new way of looking at orthodontic treatment. Traditional orthodontic treatments often require the removal of perfectly healthy teeth, or alternatively they have to use palatal expanders to move teeth quickly to make room in the mouth.

These conventional treatments are much more painful, more drawn out, and can end up leaving the patient with orthodontic problems which they didn’t have to start with. Damon braces on the other hand give patients natural smiles which are improved gently, using light forces that are specifically developed to enhance the whole face without causing any damage to previously unaffected areas.

Damon braces are designed to be more discrete, more comfortable and easier to clean than normal braces. The brackets are smaller, so they are more aesthetically pleasing and they are also available as clear brackets for the more image conscious patients. Damon braces don’t use the conventional elastic ties to keep them in place (which often attract and collect plaque). This makes dental hygiene easier to maintain during the treatment.

Damon braces use a combination of 3 main elements to make treatment faster with fewer appointments, less pain, and really effective results.

These three components are:

  • Gentle braces which move teeth gently and do not require tightening in the course of treatment
  • Lightweight shape-memory wires which encourage teeth to move quicker and which need to be adjusted less often
  • No need to remove teeth

Traditional braces are kept in place with elastics, which cause friction and pressure on the teeth and make treatment slower and less comfortable. Instead, Damon braces use a slide mechanism to hold the wire, which allows teeth to move more freely, quickly and comfortably.

STB lingual braces

STb Lingual braces can give you beautifully straight teeth in just 6 Weeks to 6 Months after starting treatment. Our clinic is now able to offer our patients Lingual braces treatments which utilise the latest in lingual bracket technology – STb. The STb Light Lingual System provides patients with results which are straight-forward and effective and which take less time than conventional braces. They are also proven to be more comfortable for the patient than standard metal brackets.

What are STb lingual braces?

STb Lingual braces are fixed braces which use brackets and wires to correct orthodontic problems ranging from minor to severe. The brackets and wires offer a more intensive treatment for patients whose orthodontic issues are too severe to be corrected by the use of plastic aligners. But, the brackets are fitted to the backs of the teeth so that they are completely invisible. This is a great brace for patients in need of more dramatic orthodontic treatment, but who do not want the unsightly appearance of a mouth full of metal.

Why choose STb lingual braces?

STb brackets hardly impede speech at all when compared with normal braces. These brackets protrude just 1.5mm from the surface of the tooth, so they don’t get in the way when eating or speaking. Studies have shown that although some patients experience difficulty with speech in the first few days after the braces are fitted, this is overcome in just a couple of days, so your normal lifestyle can remain unaffected by your orthodontic treatment.

STb offers a great alternative to Invisalign6 Month Braces and the Inman Aligner for people who want straight front teeth in a discrete fashion with fast and effective results.

Dentists who have had a lot of experience with removable aligners will know that the promised effects of the treatment programmes are not obtained some of the time. This is usually a result of shortfallings or weaknesses in the material that the aligner is made from, or the patient forgetting to wear the aligner at all times.

This can be incredibly annoying for both dentist and patient as the results are not delivered at the end of the treatment, and further procedures are required to achieve that perfect smile. This is why STb Lingual braces are often preferred – the patient cannot forget to wear them and the material is hard and durable so will do its job perfectly.

Incognito braces

What are Incognito braces?

Incognito braces are the invisible and modern lingual bracket system which offers a truly discrete teeth straightening experience. Each brace bracket is hidden on the back of each tooth, so that from the front they remain completely invisible. This means that you are free to go about your daily life without being hindered by other people’s perceptions of your braces.

The brackets are not shaped like conventional brace brackets. This means that they do not stick out far past your actual tooth back, meaning it will only be a very short time after they are fitted before you are able to eat and speak normally again.

Because Incognito braces are moulded for the individual, they are suitable for patients of any age. They can be used to treat a variety of orthodontic problems including teeth spacing issues, crooked teeth and overlapping teeth.

How will Incognito braces benefit me?

Because they are hidden behind your teeth, they are extremely discrete. People really won’t be able to tell that you are wearing braces at all.

Each Incognito bracket is custom made to fit your teeth precisely so they are much more comfortable than traditional braces. They will disrupt your lifestyle much less as it will be hardly any time before you can eat and speak as normal

The brackets fit to the back of your teeth meaning there is no risk that when the brackets are removed the front surfaces of the teeth will be damaged. And lastly, effective results are seen in a much shorter time period.

How long before I see results?

The exact time frame that it will take for Incognito Braces to deliver great results will differ depending on the orthodontic issue which is being resolved. We offer all of our patients a free consultation in which our highly skilled dentists will be able to examine your teeth and give you all of the information about our various treatment programmes, so you are able to make an informed decision about your orthodontic treatment.

In our free consultations you will also be able to discuss the payment plans which we offer to patients to help them break down the cost of treatment. Call us to arrange your free consultation today.

Secret smile FAQ

Are the braces 100% truly invisible?
In short, Yes. This is because the brace will be attached to the backs of your teeth and no one will be able to see them as you speak.

Are there any foods you suggest to avoid?
During treatment we always recommend that you avoid any high in sugar foods or drinks and anything too crunchy or hard.

How come treatments are quicker?
This brace has been designed to focus on improving just the visible smile (for cosmetic reasons) rather than treating the bite as well.

After my treatment will my teeth remain straight?
After all orthodontic treatment it is vitally important to wear a retainer. If you don’t wear a retainer, you could experience a relapse of the teeth where they return to their original position, which undoes all the hard work of the braces.
