Our dedicated and welcoming team is enthusiastic and progressive in their approach to dentistry and their service to you. Each member of the dental team attends regular courses and workshops to pursue further qualifications to enhance their dental knowledge and customer service skills.

We treat you, our patient, as we would wish ourselves and our families to be treated.

Your team @ the Hereford Dental Practice

Having established a successful and increasingly popular practice in London’s prestigious Royal Borough of Chelsea and Kensington, the team’s Principal Dentists, Dr Gursh Bajwa and Dr Faresh Desai, realised there was an increasing demand for an up-to-date, highly skilled and competively-priced practice at the heart of the county in the city of Hereford.

In April 2009 they opened for business at a refurbished and completely modernised Florida House in Bath Street, Hereford, close to the city’s business and commercial centre and within easy reach for patients from within the city, county towns and villages, and beyond.

Patients themselves are the best judges of any dental treatment, and the two Principal Dentists are very pleased that an increasing number of patients have taken the time to testify to the success of the Hereford Clinic’s guiding belief: ‘We treat you, our patient, as we would wish ourselves and our families to be treated’.

Dr Gursh Bajwa - Principal Dentist

Having trained at Guy’s Hospital, London, Gursh completed a Restorative Diploma at the Royal College of Surgeons while working towards an MSc in Restorative Dentisry. In the important area of orthodontics, he has been responsible for numerous treatments while working with specialists in the field, and is currently training for his MSc in Orthodontics with Dr Derek  Mahony, an internationally-recognised practicing consultant renowned for developing dental treatments as part of  complete face enhancement.

As an active member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentists, Gursh visits the USA on a regular basis to gain experience in the latest techniques, as well as in the UK through his membership of the British Academy of Cosmetic Dentists. A member of the British Dental Association, he frequently takes part in study groups throughout the West Midlands, and since completing a training programme in sedation has carried more than 1,000 sedation-assisted treatments.

Gursh gets a great deal of satisfaction from “improving patients lives and smiles”, and in his spare time he enjoys walking and his passion for cricket - a game he played at school and university.

Dr Faresh Desai - Principal Dentist

Faresh qualified in Dentistry at the Univeristy of Birmingham in 2002, and two years later gained his MFGDP qualification with the Royal College of Surgeons, with which he is also completing the Diploma in Restorative Dentistry and the Diploma in Implantology.

An important part of  keeping up to date with the latest developments in his profession has been attending conferences in the USA with the American Association of Cosmetic Dentists as well as in the UK with the British Academy of Cosmetic Dentists.

Having trained with the Society for the Advancement of Anaesthesia in Dentistry, Faresh has completed and assisted at more than 1,000 patient sedations. A member of the Brtitish Dental Association and the Association of Dental Implantology, Faresh is also a member of the International Team for Implantology -  an academic organisation and scientific network of dedicated professionals in implant dentistry worldwide.

“Delivering treatment to our highest ability, and seeing the delight and satisfaction of all our patients” is a major satisfaction for Faresh, who enjoys socialising, the gym and cricket in his spare time.

Barry Holmes - Associate Dentist

Currently studying for an MSc in Implant Dentistry, Barry qualified in 2004 after working at Guy’s, King’s and St Thomas Hospitals in London. He was hospital-based for two years working in oral and maxillofacial surgery before attaining membership of the Faculty of Dental Surgeons, and has also worked as an associate in the Guildford area, at hospitals in Swansea and Newport and in general practice for two years.

Barry enjoys  ”the challenges of  carrying out a variety of treatments as part of a helpful and caring profession, and the rewards of transforming a patient’s smile”, as well as an active sporting life that includes football, tennis, rock-climbing and surfing - and the more gentle pastimes of photography and playing the guitar.

She has now set her sights on a Diploma in Practice Management, finding “the advancement of techniques in dentistry fascinating”, as well as enjoying the marketing and creative side of her work and “implementing systems to ensure tjhe smooth running of the dental practice”.

A keen painter, Asha has surprised herself  by “getting into gardening”, when not walking, reading, cooking new dishes and snowboarding.

Kelli Haines - Patient Co-ordinator

When she left school, Kelli took a National Diploma in Beauty Therapy and Applied Science, before studying for a BTec Advanced Award in Dental Reception.

She would now like to move on to a BTec Advanced Diploma in Care Co-ordination, and particularly enjoys working with patients and “the challenge of working under pressure within the dental team environment”.

Currently organising her wedding - and having Damon Braces fitted at the Hereford practice to look her best - Kelli also plays for a local netball team.

Having trained as a hairdresser at Herefordshire College of Technology, Steph decided on a change of career - and is about to start a 12-month course to train as a dental nurse at the city’s NHS Training Centre, with the added ambition of also becoming a hygienist.

The people she works with in the Hereford practice “make the job enjoyable, as well as meeting new patients and learning more as new treatments are introduced”, says Steph, who lists netball, swimming, shopping and “chilling out at home” as among her interests.

Vicky Short - Receptionist

One of the ‘front of house’ team at the Hereford practice, Vicky first trained at Herefordshire College of Technology on a two-year course to become a Beauty and Nail Technician before taking up her career in dentisty.

She has also worked in retail, and particularly likes the ‘people’ part of her job, as well as “getting to learn about all the different treatments”, when she’s not shopping, reading, swimming and meeting-up with friends and family.
